Thank You, Tanya & Brock!

So, it looks like we have one of the most SWEETEST couples in the world. While I was resting (Ral got me sick… it’s like a ‘what’s mine is yours’ deal, I guess), and in keeping with their eco-friendly/organic themed wedding, Tanya dropped off a big, yummy and not to mention beautiful gift basket from Capers. It was such a wonderful surprise to wake up and find this very thoughtful gift and very sweet card. This truly is proof of how great these two really are. And goodness, it has scrumptious crackers, plump and juicy fruits, and don’t get me started on the cheese!

Tanya and Brock, thank you so very much! We are truly, truly blessed to have met the two of you and going up to Whistler was really a pleasure – for us. I know it’s in the both of you two to be so giving but it’s really our job to spoil you! You both made it an easy shoot and we are so looking forward to being there on your wedding day, making sure we capture one of the best days of your life.

Tanya & Brock

On Sunday morning we headed up to Whistler for Tanya and Brock’s e-session. What a fun and amazingly relaxing time! These two are stellar! Tanya is the kind of person who seems like she could talk to anyone and they’d feel at home. She is very kind hearted, down to earth and absolutely beautiful (look at those eyes). Brock is the sweetheart who is loads of fun. He brought a hockey stick as a part of their shoot and they both kept us laughing. Here’s a little taste of what we shot that day:

 

 

 

 

She’s back!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that our beautiful sister came back from New York. After 6 months of teaching, she is back for a well deserved week long winter break. We headed over to White Spot to have some dinner and we were looking forward to taking some shots of her and the family – but amazingly sharp us, fired off a good 8 shots before realizing there was no card in the camera. GREAT! We forgot to put them back in from unloading images from an engagement shoot earlier that day (those pics coming soon!).

On a grander scale – We just celebrated our 11 month anniversary! 1 month to go baby. I would like to take this time to share my wisdom and experience with all married couples out there. Throughout these past 335 days, I have learned a lot. Some may say too much (did you sense the sarcasm?).

On a serious tip, I just wanted to let everyone know that the honeymoon phase is definitely a choice, and love is definitely a verb. Love – choose to be in it, and choose to show it off.

It was great to see our sis and the rest of the fam. I look forward to the next time we shoot blanks – much love, peace, and blessings!

Gear Heads

To answer your questions, yes – we do shoot with “computer cameras”. Canon makes the best ones! There have been a few times where our eyes were bigger than our wallets, but in the end we were totallly content with our gear. Danelle and I have been uber blessed to have all of this:Our camera kit includes all Canon gear:

 2 5D’s, a 30D, a 20D, 70-200 f/2.8 IS, 85 f/1.8, 50 f/1.4, 100 f/2.8 macro, 28 f/2.8, 17-40 f/4, 2 flashes (550 Ex and 580 Ex), a wad of memory cards, and a grip of batteries. I hope we answered your questions. Take that photo booth

Pre-Valentines day story

I had a co-worker tell me this story about her husband. Her husband was at the grocery store a few years back doing some last day Valentines day shopping. The usual, I guess, chocolate and a card. He was in a line up full of men, with almost all the same stuff. A few variations here and there. Some had stuffed animals or flowers in lieu of the chocolate.

Another dude rolled up at the end of the line, and he went with the works. Flowers, balloons, candy, you name it – he had it. The men in the line were all snickering with each other. My friends husband finally heard what everyone was talking about, “that guy in the back must not be married”

I love that story! Why do we kick back on the love for our spouse as the years go on? The honeymoon is a state of mind not state of time. Choose to love your valentine.
