w00t w00t!!

In the midst of making some cool changes, being busy shooting, and enjoying life – it’s an amazing blessing to have been considered, let alone, chosen to be included in this seasons REAL WEDDINGS. We’re so totally blown away with this milestone in our studio life. We are amongst very stellar photographers in the magazine and we are still in cloud nine. We feel so honored. To get a bit more of a peak of their wedding, check out their gallery on our site.

The wedding that was featured was our eco-friendly wedding from last summer, Tanya and Brock. Check out our first of many more publications to come! REAL WEDDINGS – do it!

Lyndsey and TJ

Could we not have asked for a better day?! To think, earlier in the day I was teetering on postponing the shoot for better weather. I called Lyndsey early in the afternoon. I was in the valley and was hating on the weather. It was raining with dark gloomy clouds. My phone’s weather indicator also said that it was supposed to rain all day. So, being the astute farmer’s almanac that I am, I called Lyndsey and gave the option of re-shooting another time. While she is talking to me in Vancouver, she looks out her window with blue skies and clouds that resembled cotton balls and was probably wondering what I had for breakfast (or smoked for breakfast, more like it). Boy did I feel like an idiot. Even driving from the valley into Vancouver, we noticed a drastic change from dark ominous clouds, to rainbows and wildlife frolicking beside us

Long story short – I am soooooo glad that the shoot wasn’t rescheduled. Why do you ask? On top of the fact that Lyndsey and TJ are straight up hilarious together, we darted around downtown, got the frizz on, parked in secret places, had some karate kid fighting, jumped into the water and best of all did the whole Baywatch intro (verbatim) in slow motion. Need I say more?

Hanging out with Lyndsey and TJ allows Danelle and I to reflect and really appreciate what we do. Seeing two people so in love and all about the BFF factor fuels us greatly. Seriously, you gotta love BFF couples – they totally got that!!! We couldn’t help but stand back and just shoot the poop out of their session… they were just beaming!

 

 

 

You both are larger than life… Your energy and fun-loving personalities kept us wanting to shoot more! Can’t wait for your wedding day, we’ll be sure to bring some running shoes!!

See you guys in court (they’re getting married in the law courts in Vancouver – I’m allowed one lame joke per day)

My bad. We have been totally off our game lately – and we apologize. More posts to come… seriously! This past week we’ve been hit by a flu bug so we have literally been really slow However, the sun’s coming up and so is our resistance to this virus (I couldn’t help myself). So, you’ll be hearing from us soon!

Genevive Ennis

What a privilege… When I posted Me at 25 & 25 of You I really had no idea what kind of response I’d get and its truly surprised me. I will be posting some of my visits here and there but some would like to stay off of the blog and I respect that. But I wanted to post my visit with Miss Genevive Ennis. =) Gen is one of our brides for this year and is getting married in September. She is brilliant. When we met I was taking notes like a mad woman and 4 hours flew by so quickly I didn’t realize I was running a bit late for my sister’s birthday! We talked a lot about family and priorities which really helped me to analyze how I’ve processed my role as a wife thus far and how I’m anticipating my role as a working mother.  Her family dynamics are stellar and her outlook on value and relationships are inspiring. But I think what was truly gaging was her passion and focus on building a life with Kevin. Every time she said his name there was this feeling of excitement but peace at the same time… I was fascinated with her commitment and zeal to be the best person she can be for him. Below is just a fraction of what I took away from my sit with Gen.  

I truly feel a shift as I reflect back on our visit. It is becoming more and more real to me that no man is an island. We must share our life experiences and lean from each other. I count my visit with Gen as a privilege. She made me think about things that I didn’t care to think about at this point and provided insights that helped me understand why I respond the way that I often do.

Gen, I don’t think you know what impact you had on me but as I’m still growing into my role as a wife and anticipating on being a successful mother, I will always look back and reflect on our sit together. Thank you for being honest with me and being so open to walk through life with me with your insightful stories. I really want live out what you had imparted to me and I want you to know that I’m grateful for you. THANK YOU, GEN!!

On a quick side note, her fiance Kevin is brilliant as well. =) Please and please check out his site HERE. He’s a local goldsmith who I will be interviewing in the near future and am looking forward to posting some of his work for you all to go and see for yourselves!
